Reversals of Nothing

A project born out of the cracks on the wall.

Marks, and traces; spatial trails of human interactions, habits, and activity. When these marks are left in a home, their ephemerality becomes indicative of the domesticity that once was and still is. In this series, they become the consuming mechanisms of memory, a gatekeeper of sorts. ◆

Lana is a Palestinian visual artist and architect based in Beirut. She received a BA in Architecture from the design program at the American University of Beirut, and is currently working primarily with photography, film and installation. Her work explores notions of displacement and domesticity, thinking of the image conceptually particularly in relation to archival image records as sites for creative processes.
