This portrait was created when I asked a bunch of friends to send me reference photos so that I could push my portrait skills and develop new art styles to reflect each individual. This one was designed from a photo of a friend who is a brilliant Palestinian freedom fighter and local activist in our community. I wanted to reflect her strength and power through bold and sharp line-work and colors. ◆
