Hold on to life

To the breeze

To the sun 

Or if you can’t see them with your heart,

Hold on to anything that still makes you feel 

The last words your heart heard 

The last thoughts you overthought 

Hold on to anger

To irritation 

To all the things that make you burn 

Hold on to warmth

To all the senses that keep your blood moving

To all the feelings that ground you in the moment  

Hold on to them 

Fuel your hushed soul 

For a mute soul is a dying one 

Stir the stillness in your spirit 

where the loudest spirit is the most peaceful one

Remain in motion 

In steam 

In force

Hold on to what’s worth holding on to

I’m sorry I can’t feel your aches,  

But hear me when I say: hold on to life 

Listen to those who can’t ask you to stay 

Feel the need in my halo 

Feel it in everything you’ve touched

Or in the things that have touched you instead 

Stay, for all that is inside you.

If all that around you still can’t speak

Stay for what you can only hear. ◆
